Jessie's Girl-Rick Springfield

Song of the Week:
Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield
This has got to be one of the greatest 80's songs around. Made in 1981 and was on the billboards 100 hot list for over 2 weeks. I think this song is fantastic for dancing, singing in the car, a good lip sync, whatever gets your fancy. This song was hot on MTV too, back when MTV was actual Music television station. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.

No more training wheels

Dylan has wanted to ride a bike all summer with no training wheels. Tanner is always on his bike though so it's been pretty impossible to teach him. Finally we begged Tanner to give it up, and Dylan hopped right on the bike and took off. He had a bit of a hard time getting started without me holding onto the seat at first. Now it's like he's a pro. The boys are fighting over the bike now...along with everything else they fight about. We are thinking of giving Tanner's bike to Dylan, and getting Tanner a new bike for Christmas. Or we will see if we cannot find something cheap online. But way to go Dylan!

Everyone has...

...THAT drawer. That drawer in the kitchen that you just shove everything into it and call it the junk drawer. I have one, it's small but I have one. My husband thinks it's a big one apparently with how much stuff is in there. I am at the point that I am going through everything right now and getting rid of it all. I started with this junk drawer I could barely get open.
I found very random things but the most annoying was all the screws, allen wrenches and door hindges, and stuff that just can go in the garage. I found at least 25 pens and 10 pads of paper. I feel like I can start a store with as much supplies as we have. I threw a lot away. I did find several phone cards and free food coupons, which went into my car file system. I got it all cleaned up and it's organized. I can open the drawer and it's neatly stacked. I love it!
I headed up to Dylan's room after that. I found a ton of broken toys and food wrappers. I feel like Dylan might have onset hoarders!!! We got it all into bins and organized. He agreed to let a few books and toys go to consignment as well.
Tanner doesn't keep much in his room but books..Thank God!
ROGER....OMG has a hoarding problem with T-shirts. I swear him and Rog Sr. are obsessed with T-shirts. I could start a T-shirt store too! I will have to take a picture sometime and show you. We have a walk in closet and he has the most stuff, he has all the drawers but 2 in the 2 dressers we own in our room, 3 drawers full in our night stand too! I got him to let go of 3, only because of stains.
My next goal is to clean out the basement/toy room! Wish me luck. My goal is to at least sell $100 worth of toys.

Bird Houses

A couple weeks ago Roger needed to replace a picture frame glass that he broke at work, so I took him to Micheal's. When we arrived they had bins outside that said 90% off..Who wouldn't look? So I was rummaging through what was crap to me and was about to walk away when I saw on the very bottom shelf,  a planter that says welcome, super cute for my porch, and some bird houses. The boys have been into birds, feeders and houses this summer. I give thanks to my neighbor Dawnette who enjoys birds a lot. She bought Dylan a feeder earlier this summer. So when I saw the houses I though ART PROJECT!!
I grabbed 1 already done for myself and 2 that could be painted for the kids. Total $4.00 I think.
Tanner'sDylan's house
So yesterday after school since it was 95 degrees out, we decided to paint the houses finally. Dylan has his in our Maple tree in the backyard and Tanner put his on the retaining wall next to mine. Let's see if we get some nests!

OH the savings!

I love a good deal! Most of you know I have always been a coupon clipper. I used to collect them all and paid to be on http://www.grocerygame.com/ , I decided I could do that on my own and cancelled. I then cancelled my Sunday paper, more because my husband didn't get up off the couch until he was done reading it, than the money. Anyway times are tight so I have done a lot of research this past week on how to save money and get stuff for free.
I have recently found a few websites that I am absolutely addicted to. Most of the sites you get coupons for meals, clothes or spa days for 50%-90% off. I haven't paid full price for anything in a long time.  IF you are not using http://www.groupon.com/ you are missing out. You are even allowed to buy from other cities. If you see someone post a link on facebook use it...what goes around comes around :) I post them all the time, I get $10 Groupon money when I refer someone. Someone will do the same to you one day. I check out Arizona, Seattle, CO Springs, Florida, Vegas and many more.
I rarely go see a movie either unless it's free! Tomorrow I get to go see Going the Distance with Drew Barrymore. I'll let you know if it's worth it. That site is http://www.gofo.com/ although you have to have a code to get the free passes. I belong to a few networking things that give me them.
I have printed up very good coupons from the actual store website too. Go to http://www.target.com/ and go to the bottom of the page, click coupons and start saving! I got several $1. $3 off items. I plan on leaving that store with a cart of things under $100 that's my challenge. I challenge all of you Target goers too.
I signed up for http://www.cellfire.com/ and added my King Soopers card to my profile, I uploaded coupons I want to the card, no clipping necessary. I will still use the paper coupons so they will all double.
My goal is to spend no more than $40 a week or less, which will be hard for me since I usually do 1 shopping event a month and spend $100 to $150. This doesn't include milk which we get organic and delivered to the house.
One of the website that I am getting free samples from is at http://www.denvermetromoms.com/. The two ladies that post keep me in the loop on when suppliers put out free samples of products, like tampons, expensive face stuff, laundry detergant and more. I cannot wait to see my mailbox in 4-6 weeks. I'll post pictures. They also post there shopping days. The only grocery problem is she shops Safeway and I DO NOT! It would only help out Denver people unless your Safeway stores run the same adds.
I also currently use http://www.livingsocial.com/ and http://www.weeklyplus.com/  these sites also have the amazing deals I love to save money on. I have not purchased yet due to Groupon usually being a few pennies cheaper.
I'll keep you posted if I find another great deal.
If all you readers can now do me a huge favor and click on the link to the right of this post that says follow me. I am trying to build my blog and my friends and family can start by helping me spread the word.
Happy Savings!

Off to kindergarten & 2nd grade

My baby has started kindergarten. It was a bittersweet moment really. I love having Dylan toting around with me but at the same time I love having the peace and quiet of no one talking! Monday morning marked the date of no kids in the house, well for at least 3 hours. I prepared myself for several days before hand that Dylan was going to start school again. I was prepared to cry, I didn't wear mascara and I kept Kleenex in the car. When we got to school Dylan allowed me to walk him in and take a picture on my phone. He was very specific he didn't want me taking in my huge camera. "On your phone only mommy!" Then once I got my 2 pictures he stopped smiling and looked away. I gave him a kiss and he then said, "OK, bye" as in get out your embarrassing me. Which I'm sure I was, I was the only mom there! I actually didn't cry at all, I was so stressed out that I didn't have time to cry. I was planning my attack of my to do list. Which was to get more school supplies, I procrastinated a lot!
I'm late on this post as of today we have finished day 3 and Dylan is loving every minute! From the time I pick him up until I have his lunch made he tells me all the stories about school and who his friends are, what his snack was, how he played at the park, what the rules are...He needs to make up for not talking for the last 3 hours..Seriously!
Tanner is loving 2nd grade and is not mad at all for switching schools..Thank the lord. Tanner says he talks so much during lunch he doesn't get to eat much. What a social butterfly! He says they are not into much homework stuff yet but the days are long. He gets 2 recess' and he spends those talking and eating again. This is as much as I get out of him. I think the majority of what is going on at school is setting rules and getting used to the schedule.
I'm one happy mom for getting them into a school they love. The driving is another issue..I'm in the car again a LOT! Soccer starts next week which means more driving and more time away from home.

I also have cut his hair since this photo.

Have you read off of Oprah's book list?

How many of you have read off of Oprah's book club list? If you have which ones and how did you like them?
I have read a few, I am a little disappointed though. Oprah makes a huge deal about books then I read them and they are dark and depressing.

Here is what I've read from her list:

She's come undone by Wally Lamb, it was ok. Depressing.

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, read previous post

A million little pieces by James Frey, LOVED it, I read it twice. Although Oprah insert foot in mouth on this one. I don't care if he embellished it was a great story.
I do have a few more I am willing to try.

'Eat, Pray, Love'

My book club just finished Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. This is about a women on a journey to find herself...or to wollow in self pity if you ask me. This memior is not the first! I was a bit disappointed at the book to be honest. Oprah went on for days about how this is like a bible to her...I don't get it??
Eat which is chapter 1, taken place at the start of her trip in Italy. I've never been to Italy, so I thought perfect I will love this chapter. I will live through her about what the food and wine will be like being a foodie myself. NO, not at all, so she ate some freakin' pizza and pasta with some red wine. Where is the excitement in that? I want details, make me feel like I'm there with you!!
Pray..Everyone told me to just skip over this part, that it would put me to sleep. Not in my case, this is actually when the book started to get good. Myself having tried once or twice to have a moment of silence I really connected with the mind battles of trying to get yourself to shut up! I could of gone with cutting some of the stuff out, but overall thought what a great experience.
Love, loved it! Who wouldn't want to meet a man that is all about you and only you? I hated how all over the place she was, she wanted to be with a man but didn't want to date? Your not getting any younger! Who wouldn't want to meet an amazing friend and take a road trip for days while acting like kids again? I would love to do that. The things I would of love to of done before kids....but that's a whole other blog.
I have also encluded a clip, the movie comes out here in the next couple days and I plan to go see it. I do think the movie will be better than the book..We will see!
If you read the book, I'd love for you to leave a comment of your opinion too.

Now get to thinking!
Ok so

1 year ago I was getting very nervous and down right anxious about turning the big 3-0. Think back to when it was 1999 and everyone kept saying in 2000 the world is going to end and we all die. That is exactly how I felt when I knew I was going to be 30. So exactly 1 year ago I started my bucket list. I read books on how to live your life to the fullest and to make peace with anything that was bothering you, and of course a book on what places to visit. Not all that went to plan but it has given me a new look on life.
So back to the bucket list I have about 2 pages of things I want to see and do before I die. I also don't make any money and my husband makes very little so the skydiving and going to Athens wasn't going to be where I start. So I started at watching the classics.

8*9*2009 I watched Citizen Kane. I did not like this movie. I sat through the first 1 1/2 and didn't find it interesting at all. So I turned it off. Now remember this is my bucket list so if I don't want to watch something crappy I can still say I tried it!

On 8*22*09 I tried once more with The Godfather. I really don't understand why people like this one either. I watched again the first 1 1/2 of this one and fell asleep. I mean I couldn't keep my eyes open. When I awake from my slumber I fast forward a little and still didn't like it. I never did try and watch it with Al Pacino they may be better.

8*24*09
This day I also watched half of Casablanca. This really was pushing me towards a nap. I don't know if I'm cut out for old movies! Or it may be the time of day I was watching them. Don't think I'll try watching this one again....On to the last movie.

8*30*09
I really was taking this bucket list seriously if you cannot tell by now. Last but not least I watched Gone with the wind! I was to watch this movie in film class my senior year of High School. I fell asleep a little but who didn't in HS? But I did truly enjoy Gone with the Wind. This 1939 classic of a women who won't admit she's in love with this man just to lose him in the end, and go from luxury to poverty. I just loved all the characters, the fight for love and the drama that came along with it, the outfits that everyone wore. I almost wished I lived back in those days of horse drawn carriage instead of a car. When men truly "wined and dined" the ladies! Granted it was not all wonderful with the drama and the war but this movie was wonderful!

Happy 7th Birthday!

7 years ago I woke up at 4am with the worst contractions ever. I waited several hours to call the doctor and notify them that I was in labor. Once I felt like it was time to go I called Roger to pick me up..he didn't answer. I drove myself down the block to a friends house, no answer. I finally decided to wake up my roommate (whom I wasn't speaking with at the time) to drive me to the hospital. Once we go there they sent me home and told me to rest, eat, shower and wait until I couldn't handle it any longer. So I did all of these things. I finally got a hold of Roger and I then called my boss, and told him I wouldn't be coming in to work that night or for the next 3 months for that matter. All while contractions interupting me of course. We arrived at the hospital and waited SSSOOOO LONG to start pushing. After a few pushes and a lot of throwing up I delivered Tanner Dalton Craft. 5lbs 4 oz and 19inches long.
I unfortunetly didn't get to see Tanner right away, he had several complications and was taken to NICU. After what seemed like forever I was finally escorted to see Tanner so tiny and precious in his little incubator. My little precious guy was so sweet...until I took him home and he was so colicky! The kids woudln't stop crying, which made me not stop crying! Now here we are 7 years later and both of us still won't stop crying. No really he cries about everything!
We both are a lot alike we are both very sensitive though. I just cannot believe that time flies to quickly and he is starting 2nd grade and can really be a smart ass.
I thought about this blog all day today and I was super excited to have a newborn picture posted with a picture from today. All my pictures are on a broken computer and I cannot transfer them. So above I have included an Easter picture of Tanner. It's just so him, I pull out my camera and he turns into a smiling model!
Happy Birthday my sweet Tanner! I love you so much!
